چکیده

Article points 1. Gastroparesis associated with diabetes is a severe form of autonomic neuropathy. Symptoms include a feeling of fullness when eating, vomiting weight loss, heartburn, erratic blood glucose levels and spasms of the stomach wall. 2. Diagnosis of gastroparesis is usually made on clinical history and confirmed with gastric emptying studies and a gastroscopy. Gastroparesis is diagnosed if more than 10% of the food is still in the stomach four hours after eating. 3. The aim of treatment for individuals with gastroparesis is to improve their symptoms. Enhanced glycaemic control is the only thing that consistently will have a positive impact on the symptom control of gastroparesis.
